Day 5 - More goodies!

So, today I am trying something new on the blog front by attempting to utilise an app for blogging. The app is called BlogPad Pro and as you can imagine this is my first attempt. Who knows how this will turn out?

On the yaoi front I didn't get much done today except take possession of another parcel through the post. I bought something off of eBay and had it shipped from the USA. I am sorry to say that I was a little behind the times when it came to shipping prices and, unfortunately, I think there will be a lot of eBay small businesses that will have to forego my custom. The shipping prices are extortionate. Apparently they went up in January and eBay, in its infinite wisdom, decided to 'help' their sellers and buyers by getting most international sales to go through their global shipping program. This, in effect, doubles the already terrible prices for shipping, and will ultimately kill international sales dead for sellers and small businesses in the USA.

I can afford to buy their products but I cannot justify the price of shipping. If I can buy a single yaoi manga volume for less than $2 but the shipping will be anywhere between $14 and $24, this effectively makes the product too expensive. Even if it would be expensive on another platform, such as Amazon - I know what the price will be plus shipping and can then decide where to buy from. Amazon shipping is usually $3.99 or £2.80. The price of the yaoi manga then varies from second-hand and practically giving it away to brand new and breaking the bank. I think I will write a post on this later. Anyway, although I am super excited about my package that arrived today, I will have to seriously consider any purchases that I make further afield. Domestic shipping is just plain cheaper - and with Bookdepository you know exactly how much you are spending!

Anyway, here is a photo (I hope!) of the books I got - I can't wait to read them as I haven't been able to until now!
