Day 2 - Look what I got!
So, I recently got some second-hand BL books and they arrived today! I went on ebay recently to get my dad a Father's Day gift and ended up being a little distracted. Just shows how much attention I was giving to my original task (sorry dad!). I bought him a lovely gift in the end.
Anyway, they arrived today and I am really excited because they are in really good shape for second-hand books - whoever owned them before took really good care of them as you can see. I was just wondering how well everyone else looks after their possessions - especially books and especially BL books?
I have actually started documenting which books I have and taking photographs so that I don't go all shopping crazy and buy three copies of the same book! (Who am I kidding? There is no point in lying - I admit I have bought the same book three times!)
I also try to take really good care of my books by keeping them away from direct sunlight, or wrapped up in plastic boxes. I also don't like 'breaking their spines', which kind of defeats the purpose of buying the book as most 'normal' people would say - like it goes against their very raison d'etre. And I certainly don't show the same level of concern for my other possessions. I have been known to leave the house in clothes full of holes, I have a tatty pair of running shoes that are well over ten years old that I will continue to wear - but my BL is another matter.
Is this something that other BL fans also experience? Or do you rip open that clear plastic covering instantly, so you can devour your new manga?
To be honest, buying second-hand means someone already undertook that heinous task and has freed me from that pain. I can enjoy my manga safe in the knowledge that I did not rip the plastic or break the spine. I just read it.
On another note - a new chapter of Yamamoto Kotetsuko's Omairi Desuyo has been released by scanlation group September Scans. I really like this group's work - it is usually very well done, quality translations and images. I am a big fan of these ladyz work!
However, I am an even bigger fan of Yamamoto Kotetsuko's work! That lady is amazing - consistently writing quality pieces and she has provided me with hours of enjoyment - I love her! If you want to read the latest chapter of the curly haired monk's love story, you can get it below.

Oh and yes - I am one of those fans! The ones that read illegal scanlations AND spend a shit load of money on my fandoms to support the creators! (I know this is a big issue for some people - I'll write a post about it later, probably!)
Anyway, I am going to go watch the last episode of 'How to get away with Murder' - season one - so no spoilers please! I love the fact that this drama has great diversity of cast - they are all such great actors - oh yeah, and the gay sex scenes are hot!
