Day 3 - See, I'm learning.
Yesterday, I managed to add a couple of images and a link into my post. I feel that is progress. I also was able to add labels to my posts and change my background to a custom made image that I created using a website called Canva.
If you look carefully you can find bananas. For some reason when I think comedy BL I think bananas. Maybe it's just me?
So today's yaoi activity included reading a couple of newly uploaded chapters from two mangas.
"Their lovestory in a nutshell: Top: Well, I love you. Buttom: Ok. Here my anus. Top: Nice. *poppin that cherry* Buttom: ..... Ok, I love you too. Me: And me SINGLE for my whole life. haha"
This comment I actually found more entertaining than the manga but I had to read the manga to really get it - which actually made reading the manga more enjoyable than if I hadn't read the comment first. Classy yaoi fans making yaoi even more enjoyable - nice!
The second one I read was called Lock up Boy. The title should have been a bit of a clue to some readers but to be honest some mangaka are just so good at wrapping up dark, sick, twisted, psychological shit in sweet fluffy packaging that you don't see it till - BAM!!! - it hits you right in the feels and scares the b'jesus out of you and leaves you feeling confused and slightly violated. Which, to be honest, is sometimes what I want from a manga. Sometimes I couldn't want it less. It is what it is - like reading Harada's work - a sense of dark foreboding, smut, tears, and oddly, humour. It is sometimes what you want sometimes not.
This manga divided opinion. Rape often does. Some dismiss it as fiction. Others liken it to real-life events. And for some it brings back dark memories. While reading this manga I actually agreed with everyone's opinions but ultimately - it was what it was. It reminded me of a Nakamura Asumiko manga about jealous girls and rape. I didn't enjoy that one terribly especially but I appreciated the issues it brought up. And in the same vein this manga did a similar thing. It divided opinion - which I think many people should try to recognise isn't necessarily a bad thing!
Anyway, I'm off to watch the new anime series ReLife - been looking forward to it and 13 episodes at once! Fantastic!
