Day 30 - His Favorite
A long time ago I started a blog. I say started but actually that's all I did. It was a livejournal. Livejournal had been going for a while before I created an account and I only created an account to be able to have access to scanlations - as it was a great platform at that time. To be honest I only wrote one or two posts but I did comment on other people's posts quite a lot. There was one scanlator in particular that I really liked. Sofeenalee and the Forgotten Gem Box. Amazing quality scanlations and some amazing choices of works scanlated. I would not be the huge fan of Natsume Isaku that I am now if I hadn't read No Color. It is a beautiful manga and it was a revelation to read. I became an instant fan. She also did Mainichi Seiten, which is an amazing work. June manga produced the first two volumes is piddling numbers so I don't have a copy in English but they were reissued recently in Japan. I so wanted to get them but didn't get a chance before I left as only the first volume was out by the time I had to leave.
It has always been one of my favourites in all manga not just yaoi manga. The family dynamic is expressed so well and Aki-chan is by far my favorite character so being able to read his story was humbling and I am incredibly grateful. I cried while reading it and I still find it an incredibly beautiful and moving story.
His Favorite or Aitsu no daihonmei was also something I started to read through scanlations but now own a few volumes. I will purchase the rest as time goes on and I have the opportunity now that SuBLime manga is publishing them. volume 9 already! Wow. So many of my favourite manga have become my favorite because of the great work by scanlators. Scanlators I salute you.
